Imagine stepping into a grand mansion where the air is filled with the scent of fresh flowers and the elegance of pastel colors. This wedding shoot offers a journey back in time to the lavish flourishes of classic countryside manor houses, inspired by the Regency Era. Its theme, “Opulent Pastels,” challenges traditional perceptions and proves that classic aesthetics can embody a joyful spring palette.
The remarkable work of florist Sarah from The Way To Bloom brought this vision to life. “We aimed to blend whimsy with elegance, allowing each arrangement to narrate a part of the day’s joy,” shared Sarah. She skillfully used a palette of delicate lilac purples, muted blues, rosy blush pinks, and zesty yellows, interspersed with white blooms for added sophistication. The inclusion of specialty branches and blooms in her creations added a dynamic element, demonstrating that colorful wedding flowers can achieve a look that is both classic and luxurious.
Botleys Mansion, a Palladian-style gem near London, provided the perfect canvas for this shoot. Its Parisian influences, crystal chandeliers, and ornate mint green ceremony space were complemented by modern fashion and venue styling. Combined with the lush greenery and trees of its grounds, this mansion set a scene of awe-inspiring beauty.
Two gowns by the Made with Love Bridal provided a contemporary but timeless look, beautifully complemented by playful accessories. The groom’s attire, ranging from a midnight tuxedo to a white tailsuit, showed that guys can have fun with wedding fashion too.
Sarah’s floral and decor work highlighted the mansion’s architectural grace while adding a joyful and romantic atmosphere to each area. From the grand entrance arrangements to the ceremony arch, the stairs, and the tastefully designed cake, each detail aligned with the shoot’s elegant and vibrant theme. “Florals should enhance the celebration, reflect the couple’s style, and complement the venue’s features,” Sarah noted.
The cake was pure elegance with the design being inspired by the day’s florals, yet creating new colour ways to tie in perfectly with the wedding’s theme. With the realism of the flowers, in vibrant pastels, any couple would be in awe to see this cake.
For a truly unforgettable Opulent Pastel Wedding, don’t shy away from the full spectrum of soft, pale hues. “Yellows and apricots are essential; they add depth and warmth to cooler tones,” Sarah advises. “Consider incorporating silver alongside traditional gold for your accents. This not only elevates your theme but also adds a modern twist that mirrors the richness seen in contemporary jewelry and home decor trends,” she suggests. By blending these elements, your wedding becomes a timeless showcase of elegance and style, a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity that will leave a lasting impression.
“While champagne towers continue to trend with weddings, why not give it a modern twist with a pop of color? This element not only fit into our pastel vision but also gave another layer of whimsy and playfulness to the photos.” – said Sarah. She thinks that this element encourages couples to make a champagne tower of their own, maybe even remix it, and pick a favorite beverage, for example, a Margarita or Gin & Tonic Tower.
