When Alyce in Flourland decided to celebrate her journey and the bonds forged with her fellow wedding vendors, she envisioned a whimsical tea party with luxurious details. Inspired by Marie Antoinette and the Mad Tea Party, this unique gathering brought together a stunning combination of chinoiserie patterns, antique dishware, and cascading florals, creating an unforgettable event that served as a toast to community and creativity.
Concept of the Event
The idea for this tea party emerged as a way to mark Alyce’s growth and hard work over recent years while connecting with her vendor community before the wedding season kicked off. “The tea party served as both a community event for vendors to connect and regroup before the start of wedding season,” Alyce explained. It also showcased Alyce in Flourland’s new signature cake flavors, blending business with celebration in the most elegant way.
“I wanted to host a luxury and editorial tea party that people would never forget.”

The vision—Marie Antoinette meets Mad Tea Party—came to life through the careful use of chinoiserie designs, blue and white floral accents, and vintage elements.
Stunning Cakes
Alyce’s artistry as a cake designer took center stage at the tea party. Her breathtaking creations included a range of tiered cakes that perfectly matched the event’s chinoiserie theme. Intricate piping, hand-painted details, and delicate floral accents adorned the cakes, making them both edible masterpieces and key decor elements.
The cakes were displayed on vintage cake stands amidst floral arrangements, adding to the Marie Antoinette-inspired extravagance. Her signature flavors were the highlight of the dessert spread, offering guests a delectable experience that celebrated her creativity and craft.
Floral Magic
Emily from Mae Florals complemented the cakes with stunning floral arrangements that elevated the tea party’s aesthetic. The centerpiece was a cascading runner of hydrangeas, reflexed roses, daisies, and blue-tipped tulips, draped elegantly across the table. Tea pots brimming with blooms and cake meadows added touches of magic. The vibrant blues and whites created a dreamy ambiance, perfectly complementing Alyce’s cakes.
“Emily worked her magic with cake meadows and a glorious table runner installation.”

Thoughtful Design
The decor for the tea party was a carefully curated blend of antique and modern touches. Alyce sourced bows, antique tea cups, tea pots, and vintage cake stands, ensuring every piece fit the theme. The Borrowing Bride provided chic lounge sets, including chaise lounges and armchairs, adding comfort and elegance to the event.
The venue, Skylight, located in Denver’s Art District, was a last-minute choice due to snowy weather. However, it proved to be the perfect setting. “We loved the openness of the venue, and the skylights lent this romantic light to our tablescape,” Alyce said. The industrial space acted as a blank canvas for the tea party’s extravagance.
Blue and White Fashion
Alyce and her guests embraced the color palette of blue and white with stunning attire. Alyce wore a V. Chapman dress featuring a chinoiserie-inspired skirt and an open corset that perfectly tied into the vintage-meets-modern theme. “I wanted a sense of whimsy and flexibility,” Alyce shared, “so I actually didn’t view the other dresses in the styled shoot beforehand.”
“One of the ‘bridesmaids’ thrifted a wedding dress and dyed it blue for the shoot.”

The hair and makeup by Glammed Up Designs enhanced the sophisticated looks. The minimalist makeup added a pop of color, while sleek hairdos balanced the overall aesthetic. “We were balancing vintage extravagance with clean modern lines and neutrals,” Alyce explained.
Guests, Cakes, and a Toast to Creativity
The tea party transitioned into a lively gathering with guests mingling in their finest blue and white outfits. Guests lounged on plush sofas surrounded by cakes displayed on pedestals, creating a scene straight out of a storybook. From tiered cakes adorned with delicate florals to a delicious array of Alyce in Flourland’s signature desserts, the menu reflected the artistry of the event. “It was so fun to see everyone mixing in their finery,” Alyce remarked.
