Haley Hawn, a photographer based in Boulder, Colorado, started in wedding photography while living in Oxford, England. She was enchanted by the intimate and festive ambiance of English weddings, which are usually held in the gardens of grand estates.
“Winters in Colorado are quite cold, and I felt the need to design and capture something warm and colorful,” Haley says.
Teaming up with her friends Murphy Weibel and Keely Flatness of Riviera Creative, Haley envisioned a content day that showcased their creative talents and allowed fellow photographers to participate. The choice of the Simon wedding venue in Louisville with its bright spaces and soft interiors, perfectly complemented the envisioned aesthetic.
Collaborating with Figment Floral for the exquisite garden-party-styled florals and Riviera Creative for the vintage-inspired table setting, the shoot exuded a timeless charm. Hawn’s affinity for curated details was evident in the choice of fruit and thrifted vintage plates, adding a whimsical touch to the overall ambiance.
The team aimed for a modern yet classic look for the bride’s style. A stunning off-the-shoulder gown paired with a unique floor-length veil added texture and elegance, while green pumps injected a subtle pop of color, edge, and contemporary flair. Kailey Rios skillfully did the bride’s hair and makeup, opting for a delicate, natural glam look with an updo to highlight the neckline of the dress.
The bride’s accessories included a chain necklace and a delicate ankle bracelet, contributing to her bridal ensemble with subtle elegance and charm. These refined jewelry selections complemented the modern yet timeless style aimed for in the styled shoot, providing understated touches of sophistication to her overall look.
A sleek black suit featuring satin lapels exuding timeless and strict appeal for the groom’s attire. The left lapel was adorned with a boutonniere matching the blooms from the bride’s bouquet. Paired with a narrow black tie, his classic and refined aesthetic perfectly complemented the overall theme of the styled shoot.
