There are many stunning properties in the picturesque Boulder’s Flatirons, Colorado. But the Greystone Castle stands out with its flowing grasslands, horses wandering the land, invigorating fresh air, and charming decoration. The venue was the spark for this styled shoot, which Amara Collective planned. Their idea was to capture the essence of springtime romance against the backdrop of the Greystone Castle’s enchanting surroundings.
Amara Collective envisioned a celebration inspired by the pages of Vogue – a harmonious blend of refinement, spontaneity, and elegance. From the very beginning, it was clear that this shoot would be a tandem of clean colors and textures, a fashion in its purest form.
The bride was a vision in her mermaid dress, a unique creation of delicate material. The dress, with its open shoulders and tulle sleeves adorned with ruffles, seemed to dance with her every move. Her choice of pearl jewelry added a timeless elegance to her look, while her straight hair had a simple yet refined touch. Her bouquet, a striking mix of dangling velvet plants and flowers, perfectly reflects the venue’s colors and surroundings.
The castle was the perfect canvas for the team’s artistic endeavor. With handmade fireplaces, a foyer adorned with marble black-and-white tiles, and spacious outdoor terraces, the place exudes a timeless charm that easily complements the modern perception of the editorial design. The venue’s backdrop was adorned with hand-painted wallpaper from the Neapolitan era, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the setting. The intricate designs and rich colors of the wallpaper reflected the opulence and grandeur of bygone times.
Madison, the founder of Amara Collective and a talented planner behind the styled shoot, imagined an event that exuded joy. She wanted the day to feel like one grand celebration. “I wanted the design to be clean yet messy and elegant yet upscale,” she says.
The team created a standout setting by opting for a unique lavender shade and a broader color palette. They added modern touches to the decor by incorporating trendy elements like candle bows and watercolor motifs. One particularly unusual detail was the use of the tablecloth’s folds as decoration, adding texture and visual interest to the tablescape. These innovative choices brought a fresh, contemporary feel to the setting, creating a stylish and inviting atmosphere.
The cake by Alyce in Flourland was a magnificent multi-tiered art piece adorned in stunning lavender gradients. The soft lilac hues added lavishness to the cake, capturing the essence of the editorial’s vision. The tiers were decorated with dainty flowers that mirrored those in the surrounding meadows. Skilled hands delicately crafted each bloom, adding a whimsical touch to the cake’s design.
