A Love Story Set in Miami’s Majestic Gardens

When you think of Miami, you imagine white sands, a pristine beach, and turquoise waters stretching endlessly. But this heavenly place can suggest a totally different ambiance, too – the perfect example is the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. This venue transports you into the opulent splendor of the Italian Renaissance. Nestled on the shores of Biscayne Bay, this historic estate is a marvel of architectural elegance and lush greenery. The idea of this editorial was to inspire couples with European chic. Franco, the founder of FCP Weddings, captured lovebirds Brianna and Jack amidst the manicured gardens, surrounded by fountains, sculptures, and grottos that echo the grandeur of Europe’s classical estates.

The main house, constructed in the early 20th century by industrialist James Deering, looks like a Mediterranean villa. It boasts lavish rooms adorned with European antiques, decorative arts, and fine tapestries. The combination of Italian, French, and Spanish influences creates an atmosphere of timeless sophistication.

Most importantly, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens humbly acknowledges that its history is intertwined with the displacement of Indigenous communities. With a deep sense of commitment, the organization strives to foster enduring relationships with these communities, honoring their elders, past and present, and ensuring that Indigenous voices and perspectives are thoughtfully integrated into their ongoing initiatives.

Against the enchanting architecture and gardens, the couple’s attire aligned perfectly with the venue’s blend of grandeur and beauty.

The bride wore an ethereal lace gown from Monique Huilier, adorned with wonderful appliqués. The sheer detachable sleeves and upper bodice were detailed with delicate floral designs. Her hair was styled in a classic low chignon, enhancing the gown’s sophisticated allure. She completed her look with long, elegant pearl drop earrings that brought a vintage touch of glamour. Her makeup was natural, showcasing a soft, dewy complexion with understated eye makeup and peachy-pink shade on her lips.

The groom looked classy in a well-fitted black tuxedo. He wore a traditional single-breasted jacket with peak lapels, a crisp white shirt, and a black bow tie. His clean-shaven look and neatly styled hair added to his fineness.

Soft morning sunshine filtered through the grand trees, creating a stunning interplay of light and shadow in the shots. Franco immortalized the romance of this setting with sweeping staircases, ornate archways, and breathtaking views. The garden provided countless enchanting spots for the photos.

The details were soaked in the vintage flair of a bygone era. The invitations were beautifully aged, featuring an off-white card adorned with delicate floral illustrations and elegant calligraphy. Each place card bore a small, classical cameo of a cherub framed in a delicate gold border, adding a touch of opulence to the vintage aesthetic.  The inner lining revealed old book typography and delicate watercolor roses, adding a burst of color and nostalgia when the envelope was opened. The bride’s blush-toned Jimmy Choo heels, adorned with a string of pearls, continued the vintage feel of the day and echoed bridal accessories.

Nature played a pivotal role in enhancing the visual narrative. In these captivating photographs, the couple seems to have stepped out of a fairy tale set in an enchanted forest. They stand on ancient stone steps beneath a canopy of majestic, moss-covered trees that twist and reach overhead, creating an almost otherworldly scene.

The couple had a moment to sit together on a stone bench, symbolizing artistic craftsmanship. The stone arch behind them features intricate carvings of mythical figures and swirling patterns, which frame them in a regal setting. The shell-like arch was reminiscent of Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus.”

The black and white palette enhances the timeless quality of the moment, drawing attention to the textures and details of the couple’s attire and the stonework around them.

For the reception zone, a long, elegantly draped table was extended under the canopy of trees, with their branches forming a natural archway. The table was adorned with luxurious, neutral-toned linen, and an exquisite floral arrangement ran down the center of the table, primarily composed of blush and ivory roses interspersed with fresh greenery. The overall ambiance exuded serene elegance, harmonizing beautifully with Vizcaya’s historical and botanical richness.

The Tea House, with its pale green lattice dome and classical architectural details, creates a picturesque frame for the intimate moments between lovebirds. The calm waters of Biscayne Bay reflect the structure’s delicate curves and the couple’s tender pose, adding to the serene atmosphere.
