The Inspiration & Vision
Charleston native and local planner Elizabeth Elkins of Elizabeth Elkins Weddings and Events brought this vision to life. Drawing inspiration from early 20th-century wedding trends, the team merged them with a modern interpretation. The outcome was spectacular—vibrant colors, stunning florals, elegant outfits, and an incredible atmosphere that will inspire future newlyweds.
The Fashion
The entire wedding aesthetic was breathtaking and perfectly captured the theme of the shoot. The timeless wedding gown, featuring a delicate lace overlay, was a standout piece. Silhouette On Site created soft curls and a minimalist makeup that complemented the bridal look beautifully. Jewelry from Polly’s added a touch of elegance, while the shoes from Shoes on King were simply stunning. To top it all off, the lovely stationery by Ack Studios included beautifully designed invitations, signature envelopes, and menus that tied everything together perfectly.
This elegant vision was beautifully enhanced by soft yellow bridesmaid dresses and classic tuxedos from Bella Bridesmaids, Maddison Row South, and Berlins. The stunning, vibrant bouquets added a bright pop of color that perfectly complemented their looks.
It's Time for Wine!
The couple enjoyed their time together, sipping on delightful drinks while Charleston’s only female sommelier, Brittany Olsen from Love and Bunches, curated the perfect wine pairings. The entire atmosphere felt like a scene from a movie, with every detail beautifully coming together.
The shoot took place at The Ashley, a charming bed and breakfast that has been beautifully revitalized. Its inviting wrap-around verandas and vibrant interiors created the perfect intimate setting for a wedding.
The Vibrant Reception
The planner brought together a stunning mix of sunny yellow, Jasmine-inspired flowers and elegant “Charleston green” linens. This beautiful blend of colors and elegance was perfectly complemented by delicate lace accents, vintage furniture, and the breathtaking florals created by the talented team at Creech’s Florist.
The culinary experience was spectacular, thanks to Tasty Designs by Tara. Guests savored shrimp and grit cakes topped with pickled okra, tender filet mignon with creamy potatoes au gratin, fresh oysters, and delightful blueberry cobbler. These are just a few delicious Lowcountry staples that will make any Charleston wedding unforgettable.
The stunning three-tiered wedding cake, complete with all the elegant details, was made by the local baker Tenacious Tart. It had that classic charm reminiscent of the black-and-white photos from your grandparents’ wedding, evoking a wave of nostalgia while delivering an explosion of flavor.
A Vintage Rolls Royce Ride
The day concluded with a vintage Rolls Royce ride, perfectly encapsulating the essence of a modernized Charleston wedding. With its timeless elegance and charming details, this shoot beautifully blended classic traditions with contemporary flair, leaving everyone with unforgettable memories and nostalgia that will last for years.
