Lilac Blossom Under Stained Glass Light

The Cotswolds wedding styled shoot was held in the quiet atmosphere of a former church with a rich past. It celebrated the beauty of color and the charm of natural textures.

“When our florist, The Rose Shed, asked me to come on board, she wanted to build a stunning floral ceremony arch focal point, so she presented an initial mood board with lilac and antique pink florals and some textured chiffon dress detail.” shares the shoot’s planner Roberta Burcheri. The end result was a stunning use of flowers, setting the perfect scene for the occasion.

The church’s stained glass windows inspired the whole color theme of the shoot. “I was struck by how colors can make us feel,” the planner explains. The chosen colors were picked to stir feelings and establish the mood. Rich burnt orange, soft powder, and French blue were blended with purples to add a touch of luxury.

The first bride’s dress was chosen for its dreamy match with the day’s theme. A “Jordan” gown by Berta featured removable balloon sleeves that mirrored the soft, textured look. The groom’s look matched the bride’s elegance. A timeless black suit with bow tie with a boutonniere was a perfect choice for the shoot.

For the cocktail hour and cake cutting the bride changed her look to a strapless tulle gown with pearl earrings and low bun, showcasing classic elegance.

The MonAnnie Cakes was also inspired by the color theme and softness of the shoot. “She was reminded of the delicate lilac iris from the Chelsea Flower Show, which she crafted perfectly. It was so delicate!” – says Roberta Burcheri.

The wedding table was beautifully set with a layering of white and blue plates, complemented by gold utensils that add a touch of elegance. Pale pink candles and a mix of pastel flowers created a soft, inviting centerpiece down the length of the table. Each place setting was completed with a name tag and menu, ready for the guests’ arrival.
