Santorini, renowned for its iconic and breathtaking views, stands out as a premier wedding destination, providing a romantic backdrop that particularly shines during its stunning sunsets. This picturesque setting has captured the couples’ hearts and inspired the talented photographer Teodora Simon and her team to organize a remarkable workshop for other photographers.

The aim was to create timeless, elegant, and minimalist content for the elopement wedding, and El Viento, nestled in the secluded caldera of Megalochori village, perfectly embodied their vision. This refurbished ancient stone windmill offers an unforgettable wedding experience with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea and its enchanting sunsets.

The team aimed to achieve a fresh and natural bridal look. With the expertise of the talented hairstylist and makeup artist Julia Popova, they effortlessly created a simple yet elegant style. As the bride made her way down the long aisle, it was clear that every detail had been carefully planned. The stunning Berta flawless long-train dress perfectly matched the ceremony decor, adding an extra touch of perfection to the whole ambiance.

The team created a minimalist concept, allowing the panoramic views to take center stage. Delicate baby’s breaths flowers adorned the aisle, adding an understated and elegant touch. An asymmetric ceremony backdrop added a unique element to the setting. A real celebrant conducted the ceremony, capturing authentic and beautiful emotions. The couple invited to participate in the shoot was a happily engaged French couple. It was truly heartwarming to witness their genuine connection and beautiful emotions.

Teodora Simon and Martina Hohnjec, two talented destination photographers, organized their first international workshop to showcase the beauty of Santorini. They wanted to go beyond the popular blue-white touristy spots and highlight the island’s dreamy volcanic landscape, which offers a wide range of unique and captivating experiences. The workshop was aimed to teach participants the art of editorial photography, covering various techniques such as working with different lighting styles, posing techniques, and creating visually stunning flatlays. Additionally, they shared valuable tips and insights on starting a successful career as a destination wedding photographer.

The main focus of the team’s vision was to showcase the volcanic aspect of the island. This is why they incorporated black-and-white elements into their vision. The black stones of the windmill, the black vases, chandeliers, and plates symbolize the island’s volcanic nature. The table setup exuded a clean and minimalistic aesthetic, with matte plates, vases, modern acrylic chairs, and black chandeliers all working together to create an intimate atmosphere.

After the ceremony, the couple savored each other’s company embraced by the stunning views and the magical glow of the golden hour.

These stunning photos perfectly capture the essence of minimalistic elegance set against the breathtaking backdrop of Santorini. It’s an incredible source of inspiration for couples envisioning an intimate elopement on this picturesque island.
