The Cake Maker
The Cake Maker is a delightful venture born when Sarah and her grandma embarked on the Wilton cake decorating courses in 2005. Sarah’s passion for baking started from those humble beginnings, fueled by her experiments with an Easy Bake Oven and her dad’s unwavering enthusiasm for her creations, no matter their appearance or taste. Over the years, Sarah honed her skills and developed her own recipes for cakes and frostings.
But Sarah’s talents don’t stop at baking. She is also an artist, and this artistic inclination is reflected in her stunning cake designs. Inspired by the breathtaking nature of Colorado—its majestic mountains, lush forests, and vibrant flowers—Sarah’s cakes embody the very essence of this beautiful state. When the wedding season winds down, Sarah expresses her creativity more on canvas and paper than on cakes, indulging in her passion for art.
To Sarah, a cake is not just a confection but a canvas, offering boundless possibilities for unique designs that can be tailored to match your wedding’s personality, venue, theme, or desired atmosphere. With her artistic eye and culinary expertise, Sarah brings your vision to life, creating cakes that are a treat for the taste buds and a feast for the eyes.

d’Elissious Cake Studio
At age four, Elissa Buckley’s love of baking began by helping her Mom with her Grandma’s pie recipes. A year later, she received the Who’s That Short Chef cookbook. Elissa made her first recipe modification on the Snickerdoodle recipe from that book…” this needs more butter!” Since then, she always strives for the best possible taste from every goodie she creates.
Elissa was always fond of everything sweet, although the cake was never her favorite. She often found cakes lacking in flavor and their frostings overwhelmingly saccharine. However, her perception changed after college when she joined the team at Spruce Confections in Boulder. There, she discovered the art of crafting butter cakes with French-style buttercream, which left her longing for more. At that precise moment, Elissa realized, “Where has this kind of cake been my whole life?” Inspired by this newfound passion, she founded d’Elissious in 2009.
Elissa can bring to life a multitude of extraordinary creations. Picture a magnificent six-tiered wedding cake adorned with vibrant colors mirroring the majestic Aspen Mountains. Or imagine a hexagonal masterpiece with delicate branches with sugar flowers gracefully reaching toward the sky. Elissa’s artistry knows no bounds, whether embracing the elegance of Blue Chinoiserie decor or showcasing classic designs.
