At WedVibes, we’re always drawn to the stories behind the aesthetics—the vision boards, voice notes, and late-night Pinterest scrolls that quietly shape iconic wedding moments. So, we did what we do best: reached out to real brides who are planning weddings their way. From spontaneous proposals to guest lists made on Google Docs, these brides are rewriting the rules and curating celebrations that feel less like tradition and more like self-expression.
In this series, they open up about the moodboards they can’t stop tweaking, the TikTok trends they’re into, and the vendors who just get it. Expect real love stories, real planning highs (and lows), and plenty of inspiration for your own “main character” moment.
Meet The Couple
We live in Mexico City. We moved in together a few months after we met because we felt like it was the right time — and we just couldn’t get enough of each other. I’m a full-time lifestyle-beauty content creator, and my fiancé, Andrés, is a business entrepreneur and content creator too.
How did you meet?
We met through a couple of friends who introduced us. I remember Andrés saw me on my friend’s Instagram stories and told her to introduce us. Then he messaged me on Instagram, and that’s how we e-met. At the time, he was already living in Mexico City, and I was living outside of Mexico. About two weeks later, we decided to meet in person, and he invited me to come to Mexico City to get to know each other.
The Proposal
Well, it’s important to mention that Andrés and I have been together for almost five years, and we had already talked about wanting to get married. It was kind of unexpected — we had planned a trip to Los Cabos with another couple, using my best friend’s birthday as the excuse.
One evening, my friend and I started getting ready for dinner. Honestly, I was super relaxed and had no idea what was coming. When we finished getting ready, I noticed Andrés seemed a little nervous. On the way to the hotel, though, I started to feel that something wasn’t quite normal, that something was about to happen, because everyone seemed a little tense.
When we arrived at the hotel, he told me he wanted to see the beach. The Cape has a bonfire area right by the ocean, and he said he wanted to watch the sunset there before going up to the rooftop for dinner. So we went, and that’s where it all happened. Everything was perfect — the sunset, the weather, the ocean, our friends, and just the two of us in that moment. It was truly magical.
The Wedding Vision
1. When and where is your wedding taking place?
Our wedding will be on August 8th, 2026, in Mayakoba, Mexico. The number 8 has always been our favorite; it symbolizes infinity and balance, and it just feels like us. It feels meant to be.
2. Describe your wedding in 3 words.
Intimate, warm and elegant.
3. What are three non-negotiable elements for your big day?
1. An intimate atmosphere – surrounded only by the people who truly mean the most to us.
2. Effortless elegance – a celebration that feels natural, timeless, and true to who we are.
3. Unforgettable moments – capturing every emotion through photo and video beautifully.
Planning Process
1. What’s been the highlight of your planning process so far?
One of the biggest highlights of our wedding planning so far, even though we’ve only been engaged for a little over a month, is that I found my dream wedding gown. I’m beyond excited because it truly is the dress of my dreams. From the moment I tried it on, I just felt something. Even though I didn’t say yes right away, I couldn’t stop thinking about it… and I finally said yes to the dress.
2. What’s surprised you most about wedding planning?
How difficult it can be to find the perfect venue for such a special day.
3. Is there an Instagram account, TikTok trend, or aesthetic you’re secretly loving right now?
I really think that less is more, my favorite trend – if you can call it that – it’s effortless.
4. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting their planning journey?
Don’t stress and truly enjoy every moment. It’s something you’ll only experience once in your life, so try to be present and really take it all in. Don’t let the little things get to you. I know it’s easier to be said than done, as I’ve definitely felt stressed at times too, but if there’s one piece of advice I can give, it’s this: if you have the chance to hire a wedding planner, do it. It’s completely worth it.
