During Haute Couture Week in Paris, Giambattista Valli presented a new collection titled Les Jardins de la Ménara, which is a nod to the historic gardens and orchards of Marrakesh. “It’s a place of meditative reflection where I used to take long walks with my dear friend, the late Lee Radziwill. It brought balance and calm to my mind—a soothing balm for my soul,” Valli shared before the show. This deep connection to Morocco was also reflected in the show’s set design, with models walking down a runway covered in an intricate Moroccan carpet.
But don’t mistake this collection as something suited solely for serene garden strolls. Valli’s designs are bold statements meant to mesmerize both on the haute couture stage and in the world of weddings. A “Valli bride” has always sought something extraordinary, and the designer’s journey into bridal couture is no passing trend. While he’s been crafting custom bridal gowns for years, he debuted his first bridal line in 2021, followed by two more “Love Collections.” Last April, he showcased his bridal designs on the runway for the first time at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week. The dreamy, effortless inspiration woven into his Spring 2025 Couture collection continues to enchant brides-to-be.
Morocco, known for its vast rose production, was a muse for the collection’s pink-hued pieces. These designs, inspired by lush rose fields, exude romance. The silhouettes are majestic, the fabrics are opulent, and the collection leaves room for dreaming. The designer closed the show with the red wedding dress, making a bold statement and showcasing a bride who is impossible to overlook. Beyond the vibrant colors, airy, voluminous silhouettes truly steal the spotlight. “Even the big volumes are always like fabrics that blow with the wind,” Valli says. It’s easy to imagine these balloon-like skirts swaying gracefully in the breeze, embodying a modern fairy tale for bold brides.
