While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be big fans of wearing coordinating outfits, Prince William and Kate Middleton tend to stay away from sporting the same color at the same time.
However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been seen in coordinating looks on a handful of occasions. Looking at the almost-matching outfits, it appears that the couple wants to send a message of unity and strength.
Here is a look at all the other times Prince William and Kate Middleton have worn similar looks.

Blue Outfits to the Queen’s Garden Party, 2017
For the occasion, Kate Middleton and Prince William chose to go with a matching look, she is in a Christopher Kane silk suit dress that she’s worn before, and he is in a blue silk vest that he’ll hopefully wear again if there’s any justice in this troubled world. Her head ornament was spun up by John Lock and Co. It’s the Duchess of Cambridge’s fifth year of the garden party, and she’s recycled her outfit at the event in the past as well.
Springtime ensembles, 2021
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge escaped the city and traveled to a farm in northeast England to operate heavy machinery and hang out with sheep — as royals do.
The couple celebrated 10 years of marriage last year, coordinated in camo green jackets and dark blue pants (denim for Kate). Kate Middleton layered her jacket over an oatmeal-hued fair isle sweater and topped the rustic outfit off with her beloved brown leather Penelope Chilvers boots.
Cowboy hats, 2011

Easter Sunday in pastel blue, 2022
Prince William and Kate Middleton led the royals at Windsor Castle for the traditional Easter Sunday service. This year, George and Charlotte accompanied their parents to church. It’s rare to see the Cambridge children, so it’s a delightful surprise to see the eldest two attending their parents for the second time in weeks. The couple beamed!
The four family members wore color-coordinated outfits, something they often do at public events.
The Duchess looked seasonally appropriate in her all-blue ensemble. The pastel hue is perfect for Easter weekend and a lovely shade for spring! The piece features long sleeves, a waistband, a peak lapel, and a full skirt with large soft pleats. Kate finished her ensemble with a pair of Emmy London Rebecca pumps.
Kate Middleton’s fitted coat dress adorably matched the robin’s egg blue of her daughter’s dress. Charlotte wore a blue floral dress by Rachael Riley with a navy cardigan and tights. Stealing the show, 2012
Kate kicked off the new year in a sexy Temperley black lace design with a nude underlay while attending the premiere of War Horse with her spouse in the U.K.
While the Prince looked dapper in a double-breasted suit and bow tie, the Duchess of Cambridge once again stole the show – and this time in a dress that echoes her wedding gown no less.
From the waist up, this LLD (Long Lace Dress) is reminiscent of the Sarah Burton for McQueen wedding gown that the Duchess wore on April 29, 2011 – a dress that has undoubtedly gone down in history as one of the most iconic styles of all time.
And it’s clearly a style that Kate herself is comfortable with too – modest and demure in cut (N.B. the long-sleeves and delicate accessorizing) but on-trend and a little bit sexy in fabric.
The dress is crafted from French lace and finished with a removable velvet waist belt with a bow. The dress has bracelet-length sleeves, a keyhole closure on the back, and a nude-pink silk slip lining.
Pretties in purple, 2017
On the final day of the royal tour of Germany, Duchess Kate chose a fit and flare style lilac dress by British fashion favorite Emilia Wickstead, which appears to be a hue used in her AW15 collection. Unsurprisingly, she paired it with her signature nude pumps.
Princess Charlotte wore a pretty floral dress and red shoes, which Prince Harry first owned. The dress perfectly complimented her mother’s ensemble. William opted for a classic grey suit and purple tie.
Deep red tones, 2020
Kate arrived with her husband, Prince William, arrived at the Commonwealth Day services wearing an elegant deep-red coat by Catherine Walker, which she previously wore on Christmas Day in 2018. Completing the monochrome ensemble with a rose-accented hat and a pair of wine-colored heeled pumps, she accessorized with a burgundy clutch and gloves. The color of her Bennett dress matched Prince William’s tie.

In a touching nod to her decade of duty in the royal family, Kate also finished her outfit with her Aquatalia Rouge boots, which she first wore for her first official engagement in 2011.
