My approach is to tell the full story of your day, capturing not only how the events looked but also how they felt. To achieve this, I employ a documentary-style, “fly on the wall” approach, seamlessly blending in editorial-style posing when it enhances the narrative. On the wedding day, my presence is calm, cool, and collected, allowing my clients to immerse themselves in each moment fully," says Ashley Houghton, the founder of Unabridged Photo.

Ashley loves experimenting with various photographic formats, documenting most weddings with a mix of digital, 35mm film, medium format film, and Polaroids. The tactile and nostalgic qualities of analog formats complement the sharp, high-resolution digital images, creating a final gallery that is both distinctive and timeless.

Though Ashley often photographs weddings in her home bases of Chicago and NY, she is an expert traveler and is excited to document weddings in London, Ireland and Scotland in the coming year.
