Namasa Weddings was founded by photographer Chesoen Tan in Bali in 2017. The name draws inspiration from “Manaslu,” a Sanskrit word meaning “Mountain of the Spirit.” For Chesoen, Namasa reflects the quiet inner light that shapes his creative vision and guides his approach to photographing weddings.
Blending fine-art sensibility with emotional depth, Chesoen works across multiple formats: digital, 35mm, medium format, and handheld large-format 4×5 film. His use of these tools is deliberate. Slowing down the process allows him to be fully present, to honor each frame, and to connect deeply with the people he photographs.
Described as a visual poet, Chesoen captures weddings with sensitivity and grace. His images feel both timeless and intimate, shaped by a deep appreciation for light, philosophy, and the human connection. There’s a quiet elegance to his work, one that speaks beyond trends and into feeling.
Since its beginning, Namasa Weddings has grown into one of Bali’s most recognized fine-art studios, with work featured in Style Me Pretty, Junebug Weddings, Magnolia Rouge, and Bride and Breakfast Hong Kong. The studio’s signature lies in its ability to make each image feel modern yet soulful, capturing love not just as it looks, but as it lives in memory.
Each photograph is made with intention and care. Fleeting moments become visual keepsakes. Ordinary seconds are transformed into enduring expressions of love.
