Australian-born and US-based, Jem Richards has spent over 15 years photographing weddings, with work published internationally.

Her philosophy is Romance Without Rules — the belief that wedding photography should feel like you, not like a version of what your wedding is supposed to look like. Her approach blends documentary storytelling with an editorial sensibility, capturing beautifully unplanned moments as they unfold while still creating intentional portraits that feel worthy of a magazine without losing the people within them.
Working across digital, film, and Super 8, Jem is constantly inspired by fashion, art, music, nostalgia, and the wonderfully specific details that make each couple who they are. She loves getting to know the people she photographs beyond the surface because those little pieces of personality are often where the most interesting creative ideas begin.
