Anna Ascari founded Hakuna Matata Wedding Studio in 2015 and has been creating wedding photography and films across Europe and beyond ever since. Based in Italy, she brings a background in Photography and Cinema into her work, shaping a visual language that leans into atmosphere, movement, and emotions.
Her approach is cinematic but never staged for effect. She pays attention to light, rhythm, and the quiet exchanges that unfold naturally throughout the day. Each frame carries intention, while still leaving space for spontaneity.
Anna’s work has been recognized internationally. She was awarded Best Wedding Photographer in Europe at Way Up North in Copenhagen in 2021 and Best International Wedding Photographer at Way Up North in Prague in 2023. She has also been selected among the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in Europe by BODAF in 2024 and 2025 and is listed among the Top 50 Photographers worldwide by Junebug Weddings.
