A North Ibiza Wedding With Dinner Beneath the Olive Trees

Featured Members

Juliette and Philippe said their vows inside a whitewashed fortress church in the north of Ibiza, Spain, then moved the party to an olive grove for dinner and a cave carved into the rock for dancing. The weekend was planned by JC Bespoke Events, and the team’s skill shows in the edit: a cool, green ceremony, a warm, saturated evening, and transitions so smooth the whole thing reads as one long, unhurried summer day.

Location: Ibiza, Spain
Style: Mediterranean, Organic, Artisanal
Time of planning: 18 months
Number of guests: 150
Setting: Private Countryside Estate
Season: Summer

Juliette works in marketing for the high jewellery house Boghossian, and Philippe works in M&A at Richemont, so both of them spend their working weeks close to rare stones and big deals. They met in August 2020 and got engaged in Lausanne, Switzerland, in November 2024, just after Juliette found out she was pregnant with their first child, Paola. That timing gave the engagement a plot twist already built in, and it gave the wedding its most important guest, because Paola stood right beside her parents in the church.

Ibiza was never really up for debate. Philippe has spent his summers on the island with his family since he was young, and being half South American, celebrating in a Spanish speaking destination came naturally to him. The couple toured several venues, yet Fincadelica sat at the top of their list from the very beginning, largely because of where it sits: the north, the part of the island they consider more authentic and untouched, and a side of Ibiza they were excited to show guests who had never seen it.

Bride's Morning & Fashion

Juliette wore the Eloise gown by Danielle Frankel, a label she has loved for years and picked for its bohemian streak, which she saw as a perfect fit for a wedding in Ibiza. Then came the twist that makes the whole thing current: slim black oval sunglasses worn with the veil.

Her earrings came from Eli-O, the label of the couple’s dear friend Elisa, and Juliette wears Elisa’s earrings every day, which is about the strongest endorsement a jeweller can get. Every Eli-O piece is handmade in Geneva, Switzerland, using lost wax casting, with ancient Greek jewellery as the reference point, so a small pearl drop on the ear came with serious design lineage. Beauty was by Lauren Buckley, working to a brief for something natural and not too done up: real skin, soft definition and a low, loose updo with face framing pieces left free.

The bouquet, by Aurea Floral Studio, mixed white phalaenopsis orchids with green anthuriums and long trailing strands of green amaranthus, finished with loose silk ribbons. Amaranthus goes by the old garden name love lies bleeding, which is a fairly dramatic thing to carry down the aisle, and the green and white palette tied the bouquet straight back to the hydrangeas waiting outside the church.

Groom’s Fashion

Philippe wore a linen suit by Zegna in a pale sand tone with a light blue shirt and a tie by Drake’s. Linen is the default fabric of a Mediterranean summer, and wearing it with a proper tie instead of an open collar was a quiet nod to the formality of a traditional church ceremony.

Concept & Vision

The couple wanted a wedding that truly reflected them, which in their words meant “simple yet tasteful, with subtle Ibizan touches that blended seamlessly into the natural beauty of the landscape.” For JC Bespoke Events, every decision came back to creating an experience: “We intentionally created contrast throughout the day. The ceremony embraced a palette of sculptural green hydrangeas just outside the historic church, allowing the architecture to speak for itself.“

Photographer Ana Marina Sanz was the couple’s first choice from the start, and they felt incredibly lucky that she was still available for their date. They loved her distinctive style, with images that carry a vintage feel and capture moments in a way that is both artistic and authentic, and the gallery proves their point.

The church in question is Sant Miquel de Balansat, a whitewashed fortress church on a hilltop in the north. Its arcaded porch and thick walls do all the decorating by themselves, which is exactly why the flowers stayed outside.

Styling and design came from Solol, with production by 3D Light Ibiza. For the flowers, the couple turned to Aurea Floral Studio, whose team understood their vision immediately, and they loved collaborating with a local artist based in Ibiza.

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests made their way to Fincadelica in the heart of San Lorenzo, a restored farmhouse estate with around three centuries of history spread across 21 acres of farmland and gardens.

This is where the planned contrast kicked in, with the cool greens of the church giving way to a warmer, more expressive setting full of colourful florals and handcrafted details. Cocktails were served by the pool under thatched parasols, and guests showed up in full colour, with tangerine, emerald, lilac, saffron and bold prints lined up along the water.

The canapés from Crisp Catering deserve their own moment. Crisp cups topped with bright orange and red garnishes were balanced on small aluminium cones set into a tray of dried white beans, a pantry staple doing the job a florist usually would. That choice kept the food styling in the same earthy, organic register as everything else, and it made a tray of bites look like a piece of design.

Reception

Dinner moved beneath the olive trees, under a canopy of fairy lights strung from branch to branch. The setup reads as a nod to the Spanish verbena, the open air summer party lit by strings of bulbs, scaled up for guests at long parallel tables.

White linen, bentwood bistro chairs, woven placemats and tall glass hurricanes holding tomato red tapers built the base, while handmade ceramics and sculptural florals by Aurea Floral Studio brought anthuriums and garden roses in a warm Mediterranean palette of coral, blush and green.

The smartest decision was what stayed wild. The meadow around the tables, full of Queen Anne’s lace and pink wildflowers, runs right up to the tablecloths, so the gardens of Fincadelica became part of the tablescape.

When dinner ended, everyone disappeared into the cave, a soundproofed space carved into the rock beside the house that the planners describe as transforming completely after dark. Louie Lion took over the music, the duo of Antonio Blakstad and Pere Navarro, two musicians born and raised on the island who blend soulful house, funk, jazz and Balearic rhythms. The couple chose them for their energy and their selection, and they delivered exactly the fun, relaxed atmosphere the couple wanted, with guests of every generation dancing late into the night around the logo by Valentina Usagi.
