Emma Roberts is officially married. The actress wed longtime boyfriend Cody John on Saturday, July 25, in an outdoor ceremony at John’s family estate in Sun Valley, Idaho, with the pair exchanging vows on a wooden circular platform backed by wildflowers and a body of water.
Roberts, 35, and John, 36, first went public with their relationship in August 2022 and got engaged in July 2024, with Emma announcing the news on Instagram alongside a photo of her ring. Emma’ five-year-old son Rhodes, whom she shares with her ex Garrett Hedlund, walked his mother down the aisle. Guests included Emma’s aunt, Julia Roberts, who attended with her husband Danny Moder and their three children; Demi Moore; Kristen Stewart with partner Dylan Meyer; Ashley Benson with husband Brandon Davis; and two of Roberts’ American Horror Story co-stars, Sarah Paulson and Billie Lourd.
The real story of the day, though, was the wardrobe. Roberts worked with designer Monique Lhuillier on a custom, Grecian-style wedding gown made from silk chiffon and dyed in a pale, tea-stained shade Lhuillier named “antique rose,” paired with a lace shawl that could be removed for a sleeveless silhouette and a long veil worn over the face. The dress reportedly took nine months and nearly 1,000 hours of handwork to complete. Roberts said she’d deliberately steered away from a traditional white gown, explaining that she wanted to look like a ghost—a little antique ghost doll.
The dress wasn’t the only bridal look of the weekend. The festivities began the night before with a rehearsal dinner, for which Roberts wore a separate white, disco-inspired tulle gown with cape sleeves and a trailing sheer skirt. After the ceremony itself, she changed again, this time into an archival Monique Lhuillier design from the label’s Fall 2004 collection, a black Chantilly lace corset paired with a tea-length skirt made from layered, hand-cut silk organza. Roberts mentioned she liked the idea of wearing black to the after-party. John, for his part, wore a chocolate brown suit for the ceremony. Later that night, the wedding party went bar hopping in nearby Ketchum to keep the celebration going.
