Kennidy and Evan got married at Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts’ vineyard property in Napa, California. Their day ran on a strict palette: all-black attire for guests, all-white florals, and clean architecture that carried the same feel from ceremony to reception. Our member Scott & Dana Photographers, shot the whole thing, catching the venue’s light, lines, and the couple’s love exactly the way they were meant to be seen.
Location: Napa, California, USA
Style: Classic, Elegant, Sophisticated
Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 115
Setting: Garden
Season: Summer
Kennidy and Evan met on Hinge. The proposal came a day before Kennidy’s birthday, in her hometown of Aspen, Colorado. Her parents suggested a quick detour to see a house they were considering buying on Snowmass Mountain — nothing out of the ordinary, since house-hunting renovation projects were a regular thing for them. Near a quiet grove of trees by the property, Evan got down on one knee, and Kennidy said yes.
The night rolled straight into celebration, full of hugs and happy tears. Dinner came first, at Kennidy’s favorite restaurant, followed by espresso martinis at J-Bar with her family. That same cocktail made its way onto the menu at their wedding — a small, sweet callback to where it all began.
Concept & Inspiration
The design took its cue from Stanly Ranch itself. Its architecture — clean lines, natural materials, a strong connection to the vineyard landscape around it — set the tone before a single flower was chosen. Working with planner A Savvy Event, Kennidy and Evan wanted indoor and outdoor spaces to feel like one continuous space, so the same modern, neutral thread ran through every room and patio.
An all-black dress code gave the evening its polish, while light furnishings and all-white florals by Nancy Liu Chin kept things from tipping into anything moody or heavy. Modern, elegant, sophisticated — that was the brief, and the balance between the dark dress code and the crisp, bright decor is what made it work.
Bridal Fashion
Kennidy’s dress came from Amsale, paired with Badgley Mischka heels and a spritz of Cartier Baiser Volé. Her makeup, done by Rachel Lusk, stayed soft and luminous — pink tones, minimal product, nothing that didn’t feel like her. She’s not one for heavy makeup, and it showed: natural, glowing, unmistakably herself.
Her bouquet kept the same restraint. White roses and calla lilies, stems left bare and tied with an off-white fabric pulled from her own dress, with just a touch of silver-green foliage to finish it. The one heirloom piece was her grandmother’s pearl ring, worn quietly through the day.
Groom's Getting Ready
Evan suited up in Giorgio Armani, finished with Ralph Lauren shoes and a single calla lily boutonniere to match Kennidy’s bouquet. The one personal touch was a pair of handcuff cufflinks, gifted to him by Kennidy’s parents that same morning
First Look
Kennidy had two first looks that morning — one with her father, one with Evan — and both landed harder than she expected. She’d braced herself for the ceremony to be the emotional peak of the day. Instead, these quiet moments beforehand caught her off guard completely, full of the kind of raw, unfiltered reaction no one can fake.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the Rose Garden, framed by a horseshoe of white flowers and olive trees. Kennidy walked down the aisle on her father’s arm to a strings arrangement of John Denver’s “Annie’s Song,” her parents’ wedding song, performed live by BellaRosa String Quartet. He had no idea it was coming. He burst into tears the moment he heard it.
Neither Kennidy nor Evan is religious, so they wanted a ceremony built around connection instead of tradition — something their guests would actually feel, not just sit through. Jack Gunderson, a close friend, officiated.
At the last minute, the couple decided to share their vows out loud instead of keeping them private, and that choice turned the ceremony into the day’s most memorable stretch. There was laughter, there were tears, and by the end, several guests had already asked Jack to officiate their own weddings.
Cocktail Hour
Guests spilled onto the Glass House patio for cocktail hour, where the signature drinks were a nod to Kennidy and Evan’s pets. Kennidy’s was a spicy margarita with a twist, Evan’s leaned pineapple and bourbon. A slideshow of old photos played in the background, and the escort card display, set against loose, garden-style white arrangements, gave guests their first close look at the florals that would carry through the whole night.
Private Moment
Kennidy and Evan slipped away for portraits as the light turned gold, and this is where Scott & Dana‘s eye really came through. They caught the couple beneath the property’s sculptural steel arch, small against it, letting the landscape carry the moment. The shots are the kind you frame — instant keepsakes, the ones this couple will pull out decades from now.
Reception & Decor
Dinner moved into the Glass House, where hanging pendant lights by Illusions Lighting and a greenery-draped chandelier set the tone before anyone even sat down. Tables ran long and low, dressed in white florals and warm-toned linens, with furniture and rentals from Found Rentals and Theoni Collection.
A Savvy Event pulled it all together into something fresh and elegant, exactly the tone Kennidy and Evan wanted.
"Each guest received a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, a special wine from a family friend’s private vineyard in Napa. Evan even designed the custom logo, making each bottle uniquely ours."
The Bride
The cake, a tiered white design covered in cascading sugar flowers by Flour & Bloom, got its own moment at the center of the room. For their first dance, Kennidy and Evan chose “Our Love” by Gary Clark Jr., and the dance floor never really cleared after that. Boutique DJ‘s kept the night moving with a mix built to pull guests of every age onto the floor, right up through the disco-ball-lit finale.
