At WedVibes, we’re always drawn to the stories behind the aesthetics—the vision boards, voice notes, and late-night Pinterest scrolls that quietly shape iconic wedding moments. So, we did what we do best: reached out to real brides & grooms who are planning weddings their way. From spontaneous proposals to guest lists made on Google Docs, these brides are rewriting the rules and curating celebrations that feel less like tradition and more like self-expression.
In this series, they open up about the moodboards they can’t stop tweaking, the TikTok trends they’re into, and the vendors who just get it. Expect real love stories, real planning highs (and lows), and plenty of inspiration for your own “main character” moment.
Meet The Couple
T’Aire and Tyrus live in Phoenix, Arizona. Tyrus is a multi-hyphenate (Founder of Tyrus Divine, wardrobe stylist, creative director, and author), while T’Aire works in multi-sport apparel. They love watching sports and movies accompanied by delicious food. The couple also shares a passion for reading.
How did you meet?
I was watching my friend’s basketball game on TV when I saw a beautiful woman sitting on the bench. I reached out to my friend to ask who the person I saw was, and it turned out to be Coach T’Aire. Weeks later, we were introduced at a game, and the rest was history.
The Proposal
Because T’Aire loves sunsets, we had a private sunset dinner on a rooftop. In the center of the table was a vase full of roses, but what T’Aire didn’t know was, one of the roses was artificial, and inside of it was the ring. We danced, and I pulled the rose out and told her to look inside and as she began to look, I took the knee!

Planning Process
1. What’s been the highlight of your planning process so far?
Wardrobe cultivation for sure. My suit was designed under my brand, and T’Aire’s dress was handmade by her aunt, Sylvia.
2. What’s surprised you most about wedding planning?
The inflation in venue rentals for a wedding compared to almost any other event.
3. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting their planning journey?
Take your time and enjoy life outside of just planning. Wedding planning can become very consuming if you allow it to. Take it in shifts so you’re not overwhelmed or unnecessarily stressed.
