Ayda and Nico’s love story began almost six years ago in Cologne when they were introduced by a mutual friend. This friend convinced Ayda to meet Nico, and little did they know that this meeting would change their lives forever. On their first date, they found themselves sitting in Nico’s car, talking to each other until the early morning hours. From that moment, they became inseparable.

Nico and Ayda are each other’s soulmates. They are not only lovers but also best friends. Their friends often describe them as the perfect couple, and it’s easy to see why.

The concept for their wedding was born from a desire to celebrate the diverse influences that have shaped their lives and to create a day that would reflect their unique journey together. They sought to unite the joys of life, drawing inspiration from Italy, their love for their homeland, Germany, and the rich culture of Persia. They aimed to craft a wedding that seamlessly wove these elements, like a beautiful tapestry of traditions and experiences.

The stunning island of Sicily, with its breathtaking landscapes, was the perfect setting for this special day. The inspiration to celebrate in Sicily drew from the timeless elegance of Michael Corleone’s wedding in “The Godfather.” The venue, a restored farmhouse from the 1800s set amidst the Sicilian countryside, provided the perfect backdrop for this enchanting Italian wedding.

Ayda looked absolutely stunning in her elegant wedding gown, which featured a long lace veil paying homage to the iconic Sicilian lace. She chose to wear her long hair down and went for a simple yet sophisticated makeup look. Her wedding ensemble was the epitome of elegance and left everyone in awe. Surrounded by her family, Ayda couldn’t have felt happier on her special day.

Nico was excited as he got ready for the wedding day. He was eagerly looking forward to the moment when he would see Ayda and exchange vows with her.

The ceremony area was stunning, with all-white flowers creating a beautiful contrast to the vibrant venue. It exuded a simple yet exquisite charm.

Ayda made her way down the aisle to the elegant sounds of “Moonriver” by Frank Sinatra, a beloved song of Nico’s, beautifully performed by a string quartet. It was a truly magical moment that felt like it was straight out of a movie. The civil ceremony, conducted by the mayor of the town in Italian, added an extra touch of romance as it took place in the picturesque garden of the venue.

Nico and Ayda radiated sheer joy as they officially tied the knot and embarked on this new chapter together. They were eager to share their happiness with their cherished family and friends in their dream location in Sicily.

The wedding of Ayda and Nico in Sicily was a remarkable celebration that seamlessly blended different cultures and languages, creating a truly one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience for every guest. After a civil ceremony conducted in Italian, they also had Islamic and Persian ceremony to honor Ayda’s faith and heritage.

What truly made this day extraordinary and exceptional was the diverse group of guests, ranging from 3 months to 90 years old, who traveled from all over the globe to celebrate Ayda & Nico. Their loved ones came from the United States, Germany, Iran, the UK, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, and South Africa, representing a variety of backgrounds and faiths, including Muslims, Christians, Jews, and Atheists. Together, they celebrated and danced, showcasing the unifying power of love and unity that transcends borders and religions.

The reception area was enchanting, embellished with white flowers and candles. As evening fell, the atmosphere became truly mesmerizing, creating an unforgettable ambiance for all in attendance.

The newlyweds were surrounded by love from all their cherished guests, who showered them with heartfelt wishes throughout the evening.

Ayda’s father said in his speech: “I admire you both. If I were to say what impresses me the most in your relationship, it is precisely this – that you are mirrors of each other, both deeply connected and fiercely independent at the same time. After nearly six years, you still appear to be deeply in love with each other – yet always in harmony with yourselves. You don’t lose yourselves in each other; instead, you grow together. You believe in each other, and that’s why you trust each other. You don’t sacrifice your goals for each other, but rather, you inspire and motivate one another. Each of you is everything to the other, yet you also maintain your individual friendships and pursue your own interests. You are free and loyal at the same time. Not only is this rare, this combination of freedom and loyalty – it is also the best possible foundation for a successful marriage.”

The dining experience was exquisite, beginning with an antipasti buffet featuring live cooking, followed by two courses of delectable fresh pasta and a main course of filet. To top it off, they indulged in a three-tier wedding cake made of ricotta cream, tiramisu, ice cream, and Sicilian specialties such as freshly filled cannoli.

As the evening went on, the guests danced under the starlit sky, capturing the essence of joy and togetherness. Nico personally selected every song that was played throughout the entire day and evening. In their invitations, guests could suggest a song they wanted to dance to at the party, and Nico used this list as his inspiration. Everyone danced all through the night, with no one leaving the dance floor until the very end of the celebration.

Ayda and Nico hoped their guests would experience the richness of life, the beauty of traditions, and the magic of coming together. As one of the guests pointed out: “An Italian dream, by far the best wedding I’ve ever been to. It was super well planned, with a gigantic ambiance, outstanding food, a totally touching speech from your parents, and a party that blew my mind. As a guest, you really noticed how detailed you planned everything. We as a family will never forget this evening.”
