Dear and Earp first met at a university pre-departure event in 2016, but had no interest in each other at all. They reconnected a year later when a forgotten textbook brought them together. Their bond grew as they spent meaningful years in London, a city that shaped their love and personal growth. To honor those memories, they chose to capture their engagement photos in the UK, where their story first began.
Location: Phuket, Thailand
Style: Purity of love, elegant, intimate
Time of planning: 9 months
Number of guests: 120
Setting: Beachfront Resort
Season: Spring
Earp planned a heartfelt surprise proposal for Dear on their 7th anniversary in June 2024, with the help of her two maids of honor and his best man. What began as a seemingly ruined dinner at Côte by Mauro Colagreco turned into a magical evening when the “mistaken” booking led her to a beautifully decorated villa by the Chao Phraya River. Surrounded by white and green flowers, Earp got down on one knee and said, “I might not be the most romantic person, but I promise to make you the happiest woman in the world.” The emotional moment was captured by a photographer, marking one of the most romantic days of their lives.
Bride's Morning & Fashion
For her first bridal look, Dear wanted something bespoke that reflected her personality, and she chose a dress by Berta: elegant, bold, and confident. To complement the look, she wore custom diamond stud earrings and a diamond bracelet, while Makeup By Zsasha made an elegant, glowing makeup look & a stunning updo. Her bouquet, composed of white calla lilies with long stems adorned with ribbons and pearl strings, symbolized the couple’s pure love and true devotion to one another.
"My bridal look on that day was perfect to me, and I couldn’t ask for more.”
Dear, The Bride
Groom's Fashion
For his look, Earp wore a custom beige suit by Herringbone Menswear, made from fine Italian wool by Drago. He chose the fabric for its breathability, perfectly suited to the seaside setting by the Andaman Sea. After debating between beige and white, the couple settled on beige, Dear’s favorite. He completed the look with dark brown suede loafers by Berwick and a white calla lily boutonniere, echoing the bride’s bouquet.
As a sweet personal touch, the couple created their own wedding newspaper, written and designed by themselves, to share their love story with every guest. The newspaper was placed on each hotel bed alongside a welcome bag, serving as a heartfelt and memorable detail.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the Bangtao beachfront lawn at Amora Beach Resort Phuket, with the stunning views of the Andaman Sea. The processional brought laughter and energy as Earp and his groomsmen and groomswomen entered dancing to “Fireball” by Pitbull and John Ryan, which they must have secretly practised. They were followed by the bridesmaids and bridesmen, dressed in elegant shades of green and carrying white roses tied with bows, walking in to “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar.
The bride’s entrance to Canon in D was a tender contrast, as she made her way down the aisle alone, locking eyes with Earp. Friends and family from around the world looked on with smiles, adding to the intimate yet celebratory atmosphere.
"That moment I felt his overwhelming love for me and really flashed me back to many beautiful memories throughout our 8 years together before this wedding day. When I turned back to ask my bridesmaids for a piece of tissue, I couldn’t help myself but cry as they were also crying.”
Dear, The Bride
The ceremony itself was modern and focused on the exchange of vows, which proved to be the most emotional moment. As Dear began, tears of joy filled her eyes, and Earp followed, overcome with emotion himself. His vows were repeated several times through happy tears, and tissues were passed around the guests. “Many of our beloved friends even joked to us that our wedding had been the wedding they cried the most,” added the bride.
Cocktail Hour & Moments Together
Before moving into the reception dinner, the couple hosted a cocktail hour in a private area on Bangtao Beach, enjoying a picturesque sunset and quality time with each guest, wonderfully captured by Daria Chacheva and Daria Filippova. Champagne glasses featured customized golden name cards, allowing everyone to find their glass and toast to the beginning of their forever.
For her second bridal look, Dear chose the Patarasiri dress by renowned Thai designers: a shorter, flowy dress that perfectly suited the seaside setting, while maintaining a romantic, light, and effortlessly confident vibe.
Inspiration, Planning & Decor
The couple’s vision was to radiate pure love with a modern elegance vibe, transforming the Bangtao beachfront lawn into a glowing garden by the Andaman Sea. Together with their wedding planner at The Wedding Bliss Thailand, they developed a concept called “Pristine Allure,” which embodies beauty without flaw and an indescribable elegance. Ivory white, soft and delicate, represented purity and tenderness, while shades of green added freshness and vibrancy, creating a sense of elegant simplicity. Accentuated by the golden light of the sunset, the setting gained depth and a radiant, luxurious glow.
For the reception, guests moved from the private beach area back to the ceremony lawn, which had been transformed into a glowing garden of modern elegance.
The reception decor came to life through the collaboration of the wedding planner’s creative designer and florist at IAMFLOWER. Maintaining the concept of purity, love, and elegance, white florals with sculptural calla lilies adorned the dinner tables. As daylight faded, the space evolved with candlelight and crystal chandeliers, creating an intimate, joyful, and celebratory atmosphere for all the guests.
Reception
The couple was deeply touched and pleasantly surprised by the heartfelt speeches from their friends and families, which moved them to tears for a second time that evening. Their first dance was to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli, a lively, joy-filled moment choreographed by their local dance instructor. They promised to dance to the same song every year on their wedding anniversary as a reminder of the love and happiness they felt that night.
The evening concluded with a sweet celebration: a one-metre-wide vanilla British Victoria sponge cake topped with fresh berries, followed by a stunning fireworks display organized by the hotel.
Advice from the couple:
• Be present and enjoy these moments with your partner. Time will pass quickly, and it is okay to take each moment slowly. Take the vibe, joy, warmth, and love from your partner, beloved friends, and family in.
• If you are a detail-oriented person like me, let go of perfection and embrace the real moments. So, you don’t have to worry about planning or guests anymore. It is your day. The magic will come spontaneously, and this day will be the day you want to remember and will cherish forever.
