Like most couples these days, Rebecca and Daniel Robson met online through an app called Bumble. Once a date was organized for them to meet, it was game on from day one. These two loved hanging out with one another and just clicked instantly. The lovebirds were so lucky to have all of their friends and families at the wedding and can’t wait to see what the future has on hold for the both of them in regards to starting a family!
Four and a half years ago, Dan and Rebecca had their first, second, and third dates on one day. How did they manage that, you ask? Well, it started with this couple matching on Bumble, but Dan continuously messaged Rebecca until she FINALLY responded to set up the first date.
They both claimed they were catfished, with Rebecca thinking Dan liked taking photos and Dan thinking Rebecca needed to give massages for a course she was taking! But, alas, they had their first date at Soda Sunlounge. Rebecca stared at Dan’s smile, laughed at his jokes, and reveled in their instant connection. Dan was blown away by everything about Rebecca, and he was pleasantly surprised that from the moment they started chatting, it was as if they had known each other for years before.
It was not only their first date, but since it was Rebecca’s birthday and restaurants just LOVE to celebrate birthdays with singing and photo ops, Dan and Rebecca also have a first photo that is awkward yet sweet – a memory very few of us get. So that was the first date.
The second date came later in the evening when another birthday celebration was taking place with Rebecca and her friends. These two created many memories together and faced some pretty tough challenges, but in the end, Dan and Rebecca realized they had met the person they would spend the rest of their lives with.
Dan fell in love with Rebecca’s determination in her career and personal life, her dedication to health, her passion for achieving goals, and her beauty inside and out – she is his little red onion or little burrito, depending on the day.
Rebecca fell in love with Dan’s sense of humor, supportive personality, kind heart, and how he gave her confidence like no other person could. They have accomplished a lot as a couple and are most proud of building their house in Burns Beach and planning this wedding while going through some of the most stressful life events, not to mention a global pandemic.
As they start their journey as husband and wife, Rebecca and Daniel look forward to a future filled with laughter, love, and spending time with their loved ones. Their love story is a reminder that sometimes, all it takes is one swipe to find your forever person.
For her big day, Rebecca chose a glam look with black bridesmaids’ dresses with glowy glam makeup to soften it up and add to the romantic vibe. Likewise, the bride had a glam wave to match her hair.
The bride found dress shopping a bit stressful and overwhelming surprisingly. “After visiting 5 stores over two days I went back to one of my favorites by myself which took the pressure off and I pick my dress, which I loved! I then invited my mum and maid of honor back another day to show them what I’d pick.” There is no doubt Rebecca looked stunning in her perfectly suited Galia Lahav dress.
From Rebecca: “We are both from Perth in Western Australia, we have both had numerous holidays to the south west region of WA both together and before meeting and it has always held a special place in our hearts.”
Thus the couple chose to get married at Black Brewing Co in a town named Yallingup. The sweethearts had their ceremony in a garden on a deck in front of the lake they have at the venue, the first part of the reception was canapé, drinks and live music outside overlooking the lake.
“The second part of the reception was a sit-down style wedding inside the venue. We had planned the wedding for roughly just over a year. First, we worked closely with the beautiful people at White Events to design the concept sharing Pinterest ideas then white events created a concept design for review. We opted for a black and white style, a modern romantic vibe, a few off-whites, and creams to match and tie in with my dress.
Lara and her team made our dream a reality with everything they could put together on the day for us. Being February weddings in the southwest region are everywhere, having Lara and her team was a godsend really for both styling and planning. There was a total of 170 guests at the wedding.”
“Every detail made our day unique and unforgettable! The flowers by Wallflower Studio were perfect, and we loved the flower arbor stands; the set up of the reception was on point and so glamorous, and the cake by Bake the Cake looked like a piece of art, photography, and videography by brilliant Mitch and Tijana duo made the day capturing so perfectly and making the experience so much fun which is what both my partner and I wanted! Black brewing also provided the wedding party with drinks, and a picnic basket of canapés whilst photos occurred. It was such a nice touch to the experience.”
Advice from the couple:
• We loved using a vendor for styling and planning being a destination wedding 3+ hours away from home, both of us working full time. It took the stress and trusted that great vendors would be selected and secured for a special day. Book the vendors you love early. We booked photography, venue, and makeup 12 months out.
