Location: Seabrook Island, South Carolina
Setting: Oceanfront cocktail hour followed by a ballroom reception
Wedding season: Spring
The number of guests: 100
How long did the couple plan the event: 1 year
Wedding theme/style: Glamorous floral transformation.
Cameron and Lauren met in College (Villanova University). They instantly connected and have been together ever since. The couple got engaged during a vacation in Grenada. Cameron proposed the first night of their trip during the sunset, and they enjoyed a private candlelit dinner on the beach afterward.
They bought their first dog together during their Senior year of College and are now pregnant with their first baby boy, due June 1st!
The couple chose Seabrook Island Club as their wedding venue. This unparalleled oceanfront venue is located just miles from historic Charleston, South Carolina.
The design was essential to Cameron and Lauren. From the onset, they envisioned completely transforming the ballroom using lots of fresh flowers and foliage. They were inspired by the tropical vegetation found on the island and added glamor through the multiple crystal chandeliers the planner’s team suspended throughout the floral ceiling.
For three days and through the night, Reagan Events removed this ballroom’s existing ceiling tiles and eight chandeliers, replacing them with complete coverage of fresh flowers and various Crystal chandeliers. The planning team managed this challenge amazingly.
Lauren wanted a very clean, polished look for her hair and makeup. Her gown was a stunning hand-painted gown by Savin London.
One of the most memorable moments was the pre-reception portrait session of Lauren and Cameron with their horse-drawn carriage. The team of Reagan Events found the perfect spot beneath a canopy of live oaks and Spanish moss and had a live painter there to capture the moment on canvas. From there, the couple arrived at their reception by horse-drawn carriage.
The cocktail hour was held under the palm trees and among the flower tables. The men looked official, and the ladies were very vacation but elegant.
A colorful floral stage front to complement the bride’s bright hand-painted gown and the entire ballroom ceiling, fresh flowers seemed like the natural way to go.
Advice from the couple
• Try being present during your special day and spend it with your new spouse. It can be easy to get lost in taking the perfect photos or making sure you talk to all of your guests. Still, the most important thing for us is our memories with each other, where we could enjoy the event and be thankful for the future we get to share together.
