Asha’s sister knew when she had found “the one,” and she wasn’t wrong about Jonathan. A year after being introduced, Asha and Jonathan went on their first date, and the connection was immediate. “My sister really did know best,” Asha later shared.
Their love story took a beautiful turn when Jonathan proposed on their first anniversary, catching Asha completely by surprise. At the time, she was 14 weeks pregnant with their son, William. Initially, they planned to get married after William’s birth, but life had more surprises in store—they soon found out they were expecting their second child.
All wedding plans went on hold until the birth of their second son, Albert. After having children, Asha and Jonathan’s wedding vision shifted to something family-oriented and intimate. They wanted their sons to be involved and for the celebration to be timeless. Asha expressed, “I didn’t want to look back and feel like I went for a trend. I wanted everything to look elegant and timeless.”
The couple chose the talented videographers at The Auburn Hour Films and the skilled photographer Sarah Tonkin to capture their special day. They ensured that every touching and warm moment was beautifully documented, from the wedding morning with their kids to the heartfelt celebration.
Wedding Day
Bridal Morning: Fashion & Sentimental Touch
Asha’s wedding morning was overflowing with love, surrounded by her family and two adorable children. She was eagerly looking forward to marrying Jonathan, and the room was filled with positive and warm emotions. The Auburn Hour Films beautifully captured these heartwarming moments in their video.
I was just so excited to marry Jonathan, I knew after two children very close together, we could accomplish anything, we are the best team. It’s true when they say when you know, you know. He was always the one, and I am so lucky.
Asha, The Bride
Asha’s wedding look was breathtaking. She wore a stunning Danielle Frankel “Anika” dress and veil, with her sons’ initials embroidered inside in blue. She completed her ensemble with Jimmy Choo shoes, a diamond tennis bracelet, her mother’s gorgeous halo diamond earrings, and a Simone Rocha bag. For her “something old,” she carried a satin glove of her late grandmother in her purse. Her makeup was done by Tori Overstone, and her hair by Brooke Hayward at Ohhbrooklyn Hair. Her bouquet, created by Natural Art Flowers, featured Calla Lilies tied with an off-cut of the veil. Her sons, William and Albert, were both dressed in Dolce & Gabbana, while the bridesmaids looked elegant in Rachel Gilbert‘s dresses.
Groom's Getting Ready
Jonathan was excited to get married and to finally unite their family officially. His wedding morning was filled with excitement as everyone joyfully prepared for the beautiful day ahead.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the terrace at Wildflower, offering a dreamy, floating-in-the-sky feeling with stunning city and river views. The team at Natural Art Flowers created a concept of a secret garden in the sky, making it stylish and truly unforgettable.
The entire ceremony was magical as Jonathan and Asha exchanged their vows. Their cherished guests and sons shared this wonderful moment with them.
After the ceremony, Jonathan and Asha celebrated with a champagne tower, serving Pol Roger Champagne to their guests throughout the evening. Dolce Ensemble performed during the ceremony, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. The couple shared their first dance as newlyweds, beginning their joyous celebration.
Photoshoot
After the ceremony, Jonathan and Asha were driven to the Civic Centre in Cottesloe in a classic old Mercedes convertible. The photo shoot at the Civic Centre felt like a European escape, adding to the magical ambiance of the day. It was a cherished moment for them to enjoy some time alone as a newly married couple.
Jonathan was in for a surprise with the photos, but Sarah Tonkin and Natalie at The Auburn Hour Films made us both feel very comfortable and natural, and we feel like this came through in the pictures and videos.

Reception Decor
The reception space was designed with a neutral color palette and sophisticated textures. The venue’s grey velvet chairs were complemented by other carefully selected textures, creating a simplified color scheme that highlighted the sculptural beauty of the decor. The wedding cake, crafted by Liz at Pink Orchard Cakes, was a true masterpiece. The decorations seemed to suspend time, drawing attention to the singularity of the moment. The setting was elevated by the elegant wildflowers, dreamy clouds, and rich, creamy blooms, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance.
Celebration
A very unique part of the wedding was its intimate atmosphere. Jonathan and Asha had their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, beautifully played by Dolce Ensemble. Their sons joined them on the dance floor, making the moment even more special. The six-course menu, curated by Wildflower, was inspired by the Indigenous ethos of six seasons and featured all native Western Australian produce. This blend of heartfelt moments and exquisite cuisine made the day truly unforgettable.
Our wedding day was the most amazing, wonderful day, more than we could have ever imagined. We had our nearest and dearest, our children, and it was one of the best days of our lives. Everything was perfect, there was no stress, and we were so relaxed and able to enjoy the entire day.
