A Dior-Inspired Wedding Editorial in Provence

Featured Members:

Christian Dior, an architect of timeless elegance, revolutionized fashion with his delicate blend of opulence and grace, creating a legacy that continues to enchant and inspire in the realms of beauty and style. On February 12, 1947, Dior’s New Look collection revolutionized fashion with a silhouette that combined strapless tops and wide, flowing skirts. Drawing inspiration from this iconic moment, Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance, and the vibrant charm of the 1950s, Anne-Clothilde of Hedhera Wedding planned and designed an enchanting editorial at Château de Fonscolombe, capturing the essence of the day in three distinct parts: a classy arrival, an elegant ceremony, and a chic departure.

The château itself, an 18th-century gem nestled in Provence, stood as a testament to the grandeur of a bygone era. With its historic architecture, manicured gardens, and the beauty of its surroundings, the château provided the perfect setting for this enchanting editorial. These royal-inspired moments were captured with exceptional artistry by photographer Thomas Audiffren, turning the historic château into a stage for a timeless love story.

Thomas is a master of capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments and elegant decorations into the fabric of his photography. Based in the picturesque city of Cannes, France, he brings a unique sense of French elegance and artistry to every frame he composes. Whether it’s the sunlit vineyards of Provence, the sparkling coastline of the Riviera, or an enchanting château in the countryside, Thomas’s lens turns each setting into a romantic tableau, reflecting the timeless beauty and sophistication of French culture.

ARRIVAL

Under the dappled shade of ancient plane trees at Château de Fonscolombe, a vintage Mercedes-Benz gracefully cruised along the tree-lined path. With its sleek design and soft blue hue, this classic car perfectly set the stage for the bride and groom’s entrance.

The bride wore a beautiful Dior New Look dress by Mademoiselle Rêve, showcasing 1950s glamour with its fitted waist and full, flowing skirt. She added a stylish scarf to her hair, capturing the fun and lively spirit of the era. Oversized sunglasses completed her sophisticated look with an air of mystery.

The groom stood next to the bride, looking modern and stylish with a touch of old-fashioned charm. He wore a well-fitted tan suit, along with a neat blue shirt and a matching polka-dot tie. His shiny brown loafers and pocket square added a touch of class that complemented the bride’s outfit, creating a timeless and elegant look.

CEREMONY

The ceremony unfolded like a scene from a romantic reverie. The ambiance was regal and intimate, a perfect fusion of classic grandeur and tender romance. Curved rattan chairs were arranged in neat rows on the verdant lawn for guests. Alongside each aisle, delicate lavender and soft pink blooms peeked through the lush grass, guiding the way to a charming stone fountain that served as the altar. This floral display echoed the refined simplicity of French garden aesthetics. A trio of musicians from Sweet Feelings performed live. The harpist, violinist, and flutist created a soothing backdrop with their instruments.

The bride’s dress from Galia Lahav featured a form-fitting bodice adorned with delicate floral appliqués cascading into a flowing skirt. Her hair was styled in a sophisticated chignon by Karine Brossard, which accentuated her neckline and allowed her ornate drop earrings to shimmer under the sunlight.

The groom wore a tailored black tuxedo and a crisp white dress shirt. A black bow tie and polished black shoes added to his formal appearance, perfectly complementing the bride’s graceful silhouette.

The seating plan was displayed on an exquisite board adorned with toile de Jouy escort cards, each featuring a delicate floral illustration. The cards were beautifully arranged alongside fresh blooms, adding a personal and refined touch to the décor. Below the cards, a bed of vibrant flowers further enhanced the display, creating an inviting and visually appealing focal point for guests.

The long dining table was dressed in a toile de Jouy tablecloth, its delicate blue and white pastoral scenes capturing the essence of French country style. Delicate blooms like roses, irises, and carnations intermingled with lush greenery, creating a harmonious and inviting centerpiece that ran the length of the table. Using vintage-style glassware and gold flatware added a layer of sophistication, while tall, elegant candlesticks lent a warm glow as the evening progressed.

The wedding cake, a stunning creation by LB Cake Design, stood as a centerpiece of edible art. Its tiers were adorned with intricate patterns, echoing the reception’s overall theme. Delicate white sugar flowers cascaded down the cake, enhancing its romantic and timeless appeal.

DEPARTURE

For the day’s final act, the newlyweds prepared for their stylish departure. The bride transitioned into a chic, modern ensemble perfect for this occasion. She wore a beautiful crop top adorned with delicate sequins and paired it with flowing pants by L’Amusée Paris. Her large, ornate earrings complemented her attire. The bride’s look was completed with a natural, radiant makeup palette that highlighted her features. Her hair was styled loosely, and her face was framed with gentle waves.

The groom wore a stylish blue linen shirt, exuding relaxed sophistication suitable for their leisurely exit. Paired with tailored off-white trousers, his outfit balanced casual elegance with a polished finish. Brown loafers added a classic touch, while a matching belt provided a cohesive element to his attire. His overall look was effortlessly stylish, resonating with their departure’s laid-back yet distinguished vibe.

The dedicated team behind this editorial crafted a truly enchanting experience, making us believe this couple was destined to drive directly into their honeymoon after a beautiful ceremony. The elegant planning and floral design, the exquisite stationery, and the rentals were flawlessly executed to create a dreamlike setting.

Photographer Thomas Audiffren captured the day’s vibrant colors and tender moments with such artistry that the beauty of the event feels eternal. His stunning photographs immortalize the day, turning fleeting moments into timeless memories.
